ABOUT ROSE & BEL
Rose and Cristabel LeBlanc are the mother-and-daughter duo that started Rose & Bel Florals and Herbals in 2017. As the business grew, we added more staff and feel so lucky to have such an incredibly talented and dedicated team. We are located in Fallston, Maryland, just north of Baltimore, on several acres that produce many of the flowers and foliage we use in our freeform designs. Fashioning English country garden-inspired floral designs from the most beautiful blooms available, we are committed to using local, sustainable flowers whenever possible. Clean yet organically-inspired lines, unfussy design, seasonal inspiration and the use of all-natural materials are the foundations of our aesthetic.
We also grow and wild-forage medicinal plants and herbs which are transformed into our 100% natural and organic skincare products. We are informed by centuries of ancient knowledge of plants and their medicinal uses, as well as by the latest scientific research, which allowed us to create a safe, healing and effective skincare line.
Meet Cristabel
Cristabel is the owner and lead designer at Rose & Bel, which she launched in 2017. She developed our skincare line, painstakingly trying different methods, herbs, oils, and other natural ingredients to create the safest and most effective products possible. She grows many of the herbs used in the products and loves experimenting with native wild-foraged plants with skin-nourishing properties. She dabbles in herbal medicine as well. Dubbed "the flower witch" by her local florist friends, she loves to blend both the floral and herbal sides of her business, utilizing aromatherapeutic and healing herbs in her floral designs, and adding medicinal flowers into her skincare line.
After training at Harford Community College’s floral design program and studying with some of the leading garden-style designers in the US, as well as working as a designer in a retail floral shop, she decided to open her own wedding-focused floral design studio. Using organically-grown blooms and foliage on the Rose and Bel property, wild-foraged material and sustainably farmed local flowers from other area farms, she creates free-flowing, organically-styled floral art for her clients.
MEET THE TEAM
THE GARDENER
Rose is the expert in all things garden-related. Developing her skill and knowledge over the years, she has been able to spend more time on her gardens since retiring from nursing in 2016. Her favorite flowers are hydrangeas, lilacs and peonies. She has many other talents as well, including sewing, embroidery, crochet, and interior design. Her interests include cooking, traveling and discovering beautiful architecture.
THE RIGHT-HAND WOMAN
Stephanie is Cristabel's second-in-command and assistant designer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from WVU and spent 10 years working in the field. With her design background and natural talent, she came to us with a superior design eye, skills and knowledge that transferred well to the new artistic medium. A stay-at-home mom for 12 years, she was ready to jump back into accessing her creative side to produce art and learn a new way to express it.
THE FLOWER FARMER
Cortney is an assistant designer and a whiz and calming presence at wedding setups. She owns a flower farm, Long Acre Farms, where she sustainably farms beautiful blooms which gives her special insights into the use of local seasonal flowers. She is a mom to three young children and is fortunate to be able to largely work from home, allowing her to be with her kids.
THE ARTIST
Lana is one of our assistant designers. She is a sophomore at Edgewood High School, and her interests include athletics and the arts, specifically music, graphic art and design. Lana has played soccer since she was three years old, and her favorite positions are goalie and midfield defender. She is a vital part of our team, helping with both floral design and wedding setups, where she is a whiz at finding creative solutions when things invariably go sideways. She also creates hand-lettered signs and cards for the business.
THE SKINCARE EXPERT
Rachel is a design assistant as well as Cristabel's collaborator in herbal skincare development and packaging design. She also makes her own line of terrific natural skincare, and Cristabel is in love with her incredible sugar wax for hair removal! Rachel was our first assistant designer, and has an uncanny ability to hustle and knock out designs and setup tasks at lightening speed. She is a go-getter extraordinaire, holding a fulltime job as well as working parttime here at Rose and Bel. One of the most impressive things about Rachel is that she bought her own home at the age of 21!
THE PEST CONTROL
Ducky, Fuzzy and Tiny Duck are our resident pest control experts. They love to forage for slugs and other pests that eat the flowers and veggies in the gardens, keeping their populations under control. They are a great addition to the property not only because of their voracious appetites for pests but also as natural fertilizer-manufacturers, improving the soil and helping us grow healthy plants that don’t require pesticides or chemical soil additives. They’re also pretty cute and like to poke around the patio during wedding consults, hoping for snacks and pets.
